I dunno... I kind of like to run an extension cord into the tent when backyard camping! Bring in a little TV, DVD player, and watch movies all night. We did this a couple weeks ago, then woke up and watched Saturday morning cartoons with our youngest. Never get that luxury inside, because we're too "busy".

With my kids, we didn't do the backyard camping before their first camping trip because we don't have a fenced in yard. But we did practice setting up the tent in the living room and letting them sleep in the tent overnight. They loved it. Nothing like the real thing.

Roy, this brings back memories of sleeping in the back yard on warm summer nights when I was a kid growing up in the country outside Anderson.

I especially remember lying on my back and watching the stars.

I remember those great clothes line tents when I was a kid. This post inspired my post http://bit.ly/wqnx4.
