Thanks, Marc – I really wavered between the Lumix and the Olympus Stylus 8000, but from the reviews I read, the Lumix looks like it has better picture quality. Good luck!

Sharon – I’m getting one of these ‘pocket’ cameras, next time. My Canon PowerShot is just a bit too big to fit in a pocket, so I don’t always have it with me and I miss a lot of good picture-taking opportunities.

I’ve been ‘lurking’ for awhile (really enjoy your blog) and this chance was enough to win me over! This camera has received some great reviews in several of the photography magazines I subscribe to and would make a great companion to my full size Pentax K10-D DSLR. Way easier to hike with, and still take great shots of the outdoors! Thanks for the chance, and I hope to post here more often now that I’ve taken the plunge!
